The Missoula Junior Bruins’ offense had a big night, peppering the Bozeman Icedogs with 44 shots throughout the game. The Missoula Junior Bruins took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Josh Chamberlain. Josh Chamberlain chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Joseph Porco had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 assists. Kole Kalisch contributed with 2 assists.
During the first, Chamberlain opened the scoring for Missoula with a goal at 13:32 with helpers from teammates Vincent and Porco.
In the second period, Rankin answered for Bozeman with a goal at 1:08 with helpers from Kalisch and Hanley. Nisbet put in a goal at 4:10 with assists from his linemates, Millar and Teel. Ferguson deposited a goal at 6:41 with helpers from his linemates, Kalisch and Charnholm. Akatnov answered for Missoula with a goal at 18:35 with assists from Porco and Chamberlain.
During the third, Colgrove scored a goal at 3:08 with a helper from defenseman Porco. Chamberlain deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:16 with an assist from defenseman Odlin.
The Junior Bruins’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Chekan’s big night as he stopped 32 of the 35 shots he faced. Chekan’s counterpart, Sakaria, also had a big night, managing to stop 40 of 44, but ultimately fell short.
