During the first period, Charnholm opened the scoring for Bozeman with a goal at 17:24 with helpers from his teammates Dulong and Cook.
In the second, Cunningham answered for the Junior Bruins with a goal at 1:32 with a helper from Moistner. Chinikaylo netted a goal at 4:48 with an assist from Cunningham. Dennison put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:12 with a helper from defenseman Isaksen.
During the third, Stokes answered for Bozeman with a goal at 0:08 with an assist from fellow Icedogs forward Steele. Akatnov answered for Missoula with a goal at 4:00 with helpers from Moistner and Isaksen.
The Junior Bruins’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Thomas’ big night as he stopped 36 of the 38 shots he faced. Thomas’ counterpart, Engen, also had a big night, managing to stop 63 of 67, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Missoula Junior Bruins’ record to (2-2-1-0).
