In the second period, Cunningham deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:37 with a helper from Zubkov. Akatnov scored a goal at 14:26 with assists from his linemates, Cunningham and Prince. Zubkov put in a goal at 17:03.
The Junior Bruins’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Thomas’ big night as he stopped 51 of the 53 shots he faced. On the other hand, Thomas’ counterpart, Battaglia, and Helena’s defense has had better outings stopping only 22 of 27 shots.
This win brings the Missoula Junior Bruins’ record to (15-19-1-0).
