With his first full season of recruiting since taking the Bruins job, Head Coach and G.M., along with Assistant Coach Mike Anderson was well prepared for the 2019 tender signing season and the NA3HL Draft.
While there may not have been as clear-cut a theme as there was last season with all the Texans and Alaskans that were either tendered or drafted in 2018, there was a sense of familiarity, especially with Coach Anderson taking the reigns on much of the recruiting. Minnesota guys were a prime target for the Bruins this season. No surprise with the St. Paul, MN-native Anderson working along with his father and Bruins Minnesota scout Steve Anderson connecting with several players from the Minnesota High School Hockey ranks.
One theme that does exist as will play out during this series of profiles on the Bruins Tenders and Draft Picks, is youth. The 2019-2020 version of the Missoula Bruins will be considerably younger than teams past.
With the return of veteran goaltender Seth Daniel from Columbus, GA, the goaltending battle will be at peak levels in 2019-2020. Seth return again as one of the younger players on the Bruins roster, but with a season of junior hockey under his belt he is now one of the most experienced players on the team, but will still have a challenge in net this year from a pair of talented Coloradans.
So below is a quick rundown of the Bruins 2019 tendered goaltenders Larkin Dolan and Dylan Swanson.
Larkin spent the 2018-2019 season with the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders NAPHL 16U AAA program out of Westminster, CO and the 2017-2018 with the Colorado Thunderbirds Tier I Elite League 15U team. Larkin finished his NAPHL regular season with a 6-1-0-0 record and a .902 save percentage and went 1-0-0-1 in the NAPHL Dixon Cup Playoffs.
Dylan spent a majority of his 2018-2019 season with Ralston Valley H.S. as the team’s #1 goaltender, compiling a 28-2-10-0 record and a .900 save percentage in 40 total games. He finished the season with a 2.83 goals against average and three shutouts. He was also called up to the elite Colorado Thunderbirds 18U AAA program for a weekend during the regular season.
Stay tuned next week for a rundown of the Bruins 2019 Tendered and Drafted defensemen.
