Misha Akatnov had a big night with 4 points (0 goals, 4 assists) as the Missoula Junior Bruins crushed the Bozeman Icedogs 5-2 in a home game at Glacier Ice Rink in Missoula. In addition, the Missoula Junior Bruins' offense had a big night, peppering Bozeman with 36 shots throughout the game. The Missoula Junior Bruins took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Cj Odlin.
Cj Odlin chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Hayden Moistner did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the second period, Zubkov opened the scoring for Missoula with a goal at 5:05 with helpers from his linemates, Akatnov and Dennison. Moistner put in a goal at 8:19 with helpers from teammates Akatnov and Odlin. Odlin deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:16 with assists from Akatnov and Dennison. Cunningham quickly followed with a goal at 13:06 with helpers from his linemates, Cottle and Moistner.
During the third, Schumacher finally put Bozeman on the board with a goal at 6:14 with an assist from Miller. Odlin answered for Missoula with a goal at 11:38 with helpers from Akatnov and Blondin. Balcerak answered for the Icedogs with a goal at 18:00.
The Junior Bruins’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Thomas’ big night as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. Thomas’ counterpart, Stevens, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 36, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Missoula Junior Bruins’ record to (10-13-1-0).
